Hey!

I’ve been back home after my Mastermind event in Santa Barbara for more than a week now, and I’ve had time to let the lessons I learned really sink in. I’ve been trying to decide what my TOP takeaway from the event was, because part of my heart in business is to be generous with sharing the knowledge I gain! 

Your success is incredibly important to me, and I want to make sure that each time you hear from me, it’s something that will help you move forward in business or in life. After much consideration, I’ve narrowed down my very top take-away from the Mastermind: 

You MUST set 90-day goals that are congruent with your big vision!

That sounds pretty simple, right? You may be thinking, “Duh, Rachel! OF COURSE my goals have to be congruent with my vision!” But hear me out on this one... 

How often do you sit down and get crystal clear on where you want to be in 5 years. Is it scary to you? Are you blocking yourself from owning up to your biggest desires? Do you want an epic romance with your spouse? A summer in Italy with your kids? A seven-figure business? 

You do?? AMAZING!! Now you’ve got to OWN those goals! If you’re not willing to vocalize your biggest, wildest dreams, it’s highly unlikely that you’ll ever achieve them {#harshyettrue}. 

During the first day of the mastermind, we took time to really dream about our 5-year goals in business, in life, in our relationships, etc.... because the reality is that if we aren’t moving toward something, we’re drifting. And rarely do we drift in the direction of our goals.

But then we took it a step further… we started to dream about what we wanted to achieve in the next 90 days in business and in life. 

Let’s take a minute right now and do the same. If you could only set one goal each for your business and for your life in the next 90 days, what would they be? Maybe it’s planning that six-figure launch… or finally creating that new offer. Maybe it’s setting an intentional date night each week with your man, or having tech-free hours each day with your kids... {bonus points if you write your dreams down on paper!}.

Now let’s take a step back and look at our 90-day goals. If you accomplish these, do they move you closer to your big 5-year plans? 

When I did this exercise at our event in Santa Barbara, I was shocked to see that my 90-day goals had very little to do with my 5-year plan. In fact, some of my 90-day goals were actually taking me in the opposite direction from where I wanted to be in 5 years. 

This exercise helped me see that I needed to understand how everythingI’m doing today is setting me up for achieving {or not achieving} my long-term goals. 

It’s been said that we overestimate what we can do in a day, and we underestimate what we can do in a year. My challenge for you is to understand that your big, audacious, lofty 5-year goals ARE within reach, BUT ONLY if you keep your 90-day goals in alignment with your overall vision for your life and business!
