All of the other marketing tools are great, but to really improve your ads budget return on investment (ROI) and get your CTR right up you need an edge. Pixels are like your own secret little spies that report back to you to let you know who’s been looking at your website, and which pages specifically they’ve been visiting. 

I know what you’re thinking “this can’t be legal, can it?!” Well I’m here to tell you, not only is it legal, but you’d be raving mad not to take advantage of it.

Facebook Pixels are your secret weapon to creating high conversion Facebook Ad.
So, what exactly is a pixel, and how does it work?

A Pixel is a piece of code that you place on your website to track certain bits of information. You can then use this information to target customers who have viewed different pages on your website. This can assist you in building custom audiences, tracking add-conversion rate (so you can work out where you’re getting it right), and optimizing your other adds to improve conversion rates.

How do you find it and what do you do with it?

 

You’ll find your Facebook Pixel code in your ‘Ads Manager’ area:

In a few simple clicks go to; Tools, Select Pixels, setup Pixel- and then choose ‘Copy & Paste the code’

Now you just need to decide where to put it.

Where you choose to paste the Pixel, will decide the type of intel that you will get out of it.

For beginners, you could try pasting between the ‘head’ tags of individual pages on your website. This will give you useful information as to which pages your customers are going to, so you know what working and what people are interested in.

You can now use the information to your advantage. The data you collect from your pixel can help you to retarget people who have already visited your website. If they have already visited once, you know they must be a least a little interested in what you have to offer, right? You can also create look-alike audiences to target even more potential clients.

Finally, you can use your pixel to track conversions. If you’ve managed to be successful once, you’ll want to repeat it. Pixels let you know where you went right, so you can learn from what worked and duplicate it or fine tune it to be even more successful.

To do this, head back into your ‘Ads Manager’ and select ‘Custom Conversions’ then ‘Create Custom Conversion’.

By using you Facebook Pixel and the URL of your ‘thank you page’ (the page your customers are greeted with once they have signed up) you can track and optimize your lead-magnets that got people to sign up in the first instance.

Now that you have the basics on Pixels and how to use them, I strongly urge you to go and have a play and see what data you can extract. 

When you’re ready to get serious there’s a whole other world of opportunities to be gained from Pixels, but I don’t want to frighten you off with too much all at once.
