Hello (6).jpg

I know it has been a LONG time... and there’s a reason. Life just took a major detour!!

It started a few weeks ago, but I’ve been spending a lot of time in the hospital since then...

...Here’s the story...

On Easter weekend my parents and my grandma came into town to spend the weekend with us!

Now, Grandma is 91 and SUPER-independent. She lives on her own, drives herself everywhere, plays Bridge every week, and does #allthethings. She was just popping two states over for a visit — because she’s that active.

On Sunday, Grandma was up early, ready to go and beautifully dressed in her Easter suit. We had just finished opening Easter baskets, and Grandma went upstairs to grab her medicine before breakfast. A few minutes later, we heard the most awful sound... something was falling down the stairs.

As we heard Grandma’s cry for help, we dashed to the staircase. But it was too late. She had fallen from the top of our stairs ALL the way to the bottom.

We called 9-1-1 and help arrived super quickly. The paramedics and emergency room personnel were absolutely incredible -- it's not exactly where we had been planning to spend Easter, but we were beyond grateful for their sacrifice to be there with us that morning.

Grandma's mostly ok (HUGE relief)... but she broke BOTH of her feet.

That meant surgery and an unexpected stay in the ICU. Now, it means rehab and at least 12 weeks of recovery.

Her quick 3-day trip just became a 3-month stay.

While all of that was happening, my sister went into labor (and my absolutely, perfectly adorable nephew was born!) and my parents went to be with her. Thankfully, I could be here for Grandma.

For 10 days I spent sometimes up to 14 hours a day in the hospital... from early in the morning until late at night.

That meant a lot of parts of my business were put on hold, which is ok!

That’s why I have this business... and in my next email I’m going to tell you about the decisions I made because of this accident.

We’re making lemonade out of lemons over here!!
