How To Start Effectively Delegating In Your Business

Rachel McMichael:

How To Start Effectively Delegating In Your Business
If you’re anything like me, you have often felt like you are drowning in the 80 gazillion tasks that HAVE to get done for your business on a day-to-day basis. Your to-do list seems to never end and you long for a breath of fresh air, just to regain some control of your business.

And then one day, you hear the magic words you were longing to hear: You need to outsource and delegate.

[Cue the hallelujah chorus!]

WAIT! Don’t start singing just yet…

Before you start searching the wanted ads for the best V.A. around, you need to know that there are several things you have got to have in place in your business before you even start to think about delegating. And if you don't have these things in place, you could hire the world’s best V.A., but you’re not going to have a clue what to tell them to do.

Before you start searching the wanted ads for the best V.A. around, you need to know that there are several things you have got to have in place in your business before you even start to think about delegating. And if you don't have these things in place, you could hire the world’s best V.A., but you’re not going to have a clue what to tell them to do.

Today on the Business With Impact podcast, we are talking all things delegation! I'm going to talk about what you need to have in place before you delegate and the three best strategies that will help you to delegate and outsource effectively.

>> At 2:19, we jump right into the things you MUST have in place before you start delegating in your business (spoiler: we’re talking all things revenue producing activities, processes, and clear expectations).

>> At 6:27, we talk about the three things you need to do in the delegation process and clear communication is probably my favorite step in the process (and also the step that has caused my business to not work as effectively at times– learn from my mistakes, friend!).

>> At 15:22, I talk about another step in the overall process which is surviving your email inbox. Who else ever feels like they’re drowning in their inbox?! Well, here I share a little bit about how to delegate that process and how it’s been so great for my business!

RACHEL MCMICHAEL:

My Story

One of the questions that I get asked all the time is, “Rachel, How did you get started in the online business world?” And while I’ve answered that question plenty of times privately, I've never really shared my story publicly.

So that's exactly what I'm doing on today’s Business With Impact podcast episode! I hope that this will inspire you in two ways:

  1. I hope that it inspires you to be authentic in sharing your own story.
  2. I hope that my story shows you that this is so possible for you too.

Hopefully you’ll be able to see through my journey of starting and scaling three online businesses that you should never be scared of what other people are going to think, you should be willing to change your methods if something’s not working, and sometimes disruptions can lead to the best changes in our lives and in our businesses.

>> At 2:31, you’ll hear me jump right into my story and explain how I left a comfortable 6-figure job in the corporate world to pursue entrepreneurship through an online network marketing company (all while pregnant!).

>> At 9:05, I go into detail as I explain how I was able to have great success in network marketing by helping the women in my downline reach their goals. I craved the freedom and flexibility that online network marketing gave me, but I wasn’t fulfilled in that business. So I began to pursue owning my own online agency…

>> At 12:28, I talk about how after creating my own online agency I built a “house I didn’t want to live in anymore.” I was working till 2:00 am each morning and I had no systems in place. Through the help of a mentor and some determination, I explain how I’ve been able to turn that around and run my three online businesses by working 4 hours a day, 4 days a week!

Resiliency In Our Setbacks

Do you have crippling fears that are holding you back from stepping into your purpose?

Are you nervous and anxious about putting yourself out there for fear of failure

Girl, I hear you. These are all such incredibly common fears and today I wanted to bring you a message of empowerment and encouragement on THIS subject because friend, you are not alone in this.

Today on the Business With Impact podcast, I'm interviewing Sarah Boyd, a writer & speaker, and the founder of Resilient Little Hearts – a movement that champions children to build resilience, courage, and kindness through celebrating story-time. Sarah also co-leads a business with her husband, Colin and is the mother of 2 beautiful children.

In terms of going after our DREAMS and passions, Sarah says, “I believe that they're there for a reason and I believe that it's part of our stewardship and responsibility to actually do something with that desire.”
