Bobby Klinck:

“The Legal Stuff” Made Easy for the Online Entrepreneur

On today's episode I'm interviewing Bobby Klinck, the founder of YourOnlineGenius.com and a lawyer, but he’s not your typical lawyer. He did go to Harvard Law School and worked at prestigious law firms, but if you look at the big whiteboard in his office, you won’t see much about the law. It’s filled with tasks related to platform building, inbound marketing, and sales-funnels.

Bobby is a full-fledged online entrepreneur, whose area of expertise is the law. He helps other online entrepreneurs safeguard their online businesses. And he doesn’t exactly sound like most lawyers either! He tells funny stories and peppers in “dad jokes.” It’s not that he doesn’t think the “legal stuff” is serious. It definitely is. He just figures that being forward about it all might just make it a bit more fun and less daunting for entrepreneurs like you to deal with that “legal stuff.”

In this episode you'll hear:

  • How Bobby went from working in the world of prestigious law firms where he learned that he didn’t enjoy what he was doing, to transitioning to the online world of business where he created at $10,000 launch that totally flopped, to learning from his mistakes and finally becoming a successful online business owner.

  • Something all business owners should be focused on which is learning what your customers really want, adapting your business to that mindset, and providing them with outstanding service.

  • Bobby talk about how his failures really set him up for his successes in life and in his business; and how without his failures, he wouldn’t know what his customers really wanted, which is the “legal stuff” made easy in the form of his templates.

    • “Entrepreneurs need to be able to spot issues…So that's why I try to do it for people, to help them to understand the basics so that they know enough, to kind of have a “spidey sense” of when something might be a problem.”

  • About the standard forms, agreements, and contracts all entrepreneurs should have set up in their business and what that typically looks like.

  • Bobby explain where entrepreneurs go wrong in the legal side of the their business and what they really should be doing.

    • “The legal stuff really is an investment in avoiding a risk…The reality is, there are no cheap legal mistakes…a typical legal mistake is a five or six figure mistake. So it's just not worth it.”

  • What your first steps are if you haven’t done the task of starting to protect your business.
