The Best Entrepreneurship + Team Building Books for Online Business Owners

In this post you may find affiliate links, which means that I may receive some compensation if you purchase something through that link. However, please know that I only ever recommend products I love and have personally used!

One of my goals this year was to read two books a month. By mid-February, I’d already read over 20 new books (many of them related to entrepreneurship + team-building for the online business owner).

Now to be fair, not every book was a WIN — but one thing I work to do every time I read a new book is to find at least ONE thing I can implement.

From the books I’ve read, I’ve included my top picks for each category below.

What would reading a book each week do for your online business?

Imagine how much your business would change if you implemented one new thing every single week?

Well I’ve got some incredible news for you!

On the Business with Impact Podcast™ each week, we’re adding a new segment: The best books for online business owners.

Each week, I’ll be reviewing one of my favorite books, sharing what I read and what I learned, AND as an added BONUS I’ll be giving away 10 copies of the book of the week to our listeners.

Below are links to some of my absolute favorite books in the Entrepreneurship + Team Building category:

The E-Myth Revisited: Why Most Small Businesses Don't Work and What to Do About It by Michael E. Gerber

This book is the story of a baker who is struggling when it comes to her small business. And in it, Michael E. Gerber shares the questions he asked, the mistakes she was making, and what to do differently. This book explains how usual expectations, assumptions, and technical expertise can hinder the success of your business. But most importantly, it teaches the crucial contrast between working on your business and working in your business.

The Entrepreneur Roller Coaster: It's Your Turn to #JoinTheRide by Darren Hardy

In this book you’re going to learn the four skills that are essential for success as an entrepreneur, which include recruiting, sales, productivity, and leadership. Not only that, this book is a guide to prepare you for the roller coaster that is entrepreneurship, and it will walk you through how to overcome doubts and fears, what to do when you experience the pain of failure and rejection, and show you how to stay motivated and accountable. It’s time to #jointheride.

Traction: Get a Grip on Your Business by Gino Wickman

Either you have a grip on your business OR your business has a grip on you. A lot of the frustrations entrepreneurs deal with can be attributed to either decisions not getting made or never put into practice. In this book, you’ll find out the inside scoop for building up the six key components of your business, you’ll uncover easy yet impactful ways to manage your business, and when you apply what you learn in this book – it will change everything.

Rocket Fuel: The One Essential Combination That Will Get You More of What You Want from Your Business by Gino Wickman

This book dives into the details about the difference between visionaries (the idea people) and integrators (taking those ideas to reality). Spoiler alert: you need both in your business. And Rocket Fuel provides advice to help these two find each other. It also includes assessments so you can figure out which one you are.

The Go-Getter: A Story That Tells You How To Be One by Peter B. Kyne

This book is a story about a war veteran who continually proves himself as he works to find a new job… because it’s a story and not just another self-help book, this also makes it a more interesting read. In this parable, you’ll learn how to take more initiative, increase your productivity, and make your own opportunities in life and in business.
