The Best Money + Finance Books for Online Business Owners

In this post you may find affiliate links, which means that I may receive some compensation if you purchase something through that link. However, please know that I only ever recommend products I love and have personally used!

One of my goals this year was to read two books a month. By mid-February, I’d already read over 20 new books (many of them related to money and finance for the online business owner).

Now to be fair, not every book was a WIN — but one thing I work to do every time I read a new book is to find at least ONE thing I can implement.

From the books I’ve read, I’ve included my top picks for each category below.

What would reading a book each week do for your finances in your online business?

Imagine how much your finances would change if you implemented one new thing every single week?

Well I’ve got some incredible news for you!

On the Business with Impact Podcast™ each week, we’re adding a new segment: The best books for online business owners.

Each week, I’ll be reviewing one of my favorite books, sharing what I read and what I learned, AND as an added BONUS I’ll be giving away 10 copies of the book of the week to our listeners.

Below are links to some of my absolute favorite books in the money and finance category:

Profit First: Transform Your Business from a Cash-Eating Monster to a Money-Making Machine by Mike Michalowicz

In this book, Mike Michalowicz shares an easy, counterintuitive solution to cash management that helps small businesses create profitability. In his behavioral approach, he turns the conventional accounting formula of sales – expenses = profit around: Sales – Profit = Expenses. (Or as I like to call it – pay yourself first!) From practical advice to step-by-step instructions, this fun-to-read and educational book is easily one of my favorites for business finance.

Dave Ramsey's Complete Guide To Money by Dave Ramsey

This book covers all the basics about money and personal finance — from budgeting, saving, eliminating debt, investing, mortgages, insurance, giving, and more. This book is the handbook for Financial Peace University and it covers Dave’s six Baby Steps. If you’re new to Dave’s teachings about money then this is a great all-in-one resource containing his financial wisdom.

The Total Money Makeover: Classic Edition: A Proven Plan for Financial Fitness by Dave Ramsey

If you’re ready for the easiest, most straightforward step-by-step guide to life changing money habits, then this is the book for you. In it, Dave Ramsey shares his plans for wiping out debt, creating an emergency fund, and creating a budget you can stick with. He also shares the 10 most dangerous myths when it comes to money. Are you ready to take control of your personal finances?

Rich Dad Poor Dad: What the Rich Teach Their Kids About Money That the Poor and Middle Class Do Not! by Robert T. Kiyosaki

This book is all about how Robert Kiyosaki learned about money and investing from his real dad and best friend’s dad. In it, he shares that wealth isn’t just about how big a paycheck is. Most of the concepts in this book are things that they simply don’t teach in schools – and things I wish I would have learned sooner. The principles taught in this book will likely stand the test of time, and this may just be the #1 personal finance book of all time.
