The Best Sales Books For Online Business Owners

In this post you may find affiliate links, which means that I may receive some compensation if you purchase something through that link. However, please know that I only ever recommend products I love and have personally used!

One of my goals this year was to read two books a month. By mid-February, I’d already read over 20 new books (many of them related to sales for the online business owner).

Now to be fair, not every book was a WIN — but one thing I work to do every time I read a new book is to find at least ONE thing I can implement.

From the books I’ve read, I’ve included my top picks for each category below.

What would reading a book each week do for your sales in your online business?

Imagine how much your sales would change if you implemented one new thing every single week?

Well I’ve got some incredible news for you!

On the Business with Impact Podcast™ each week, we’re adding a new segment: The best books for online business owners.

Each week, I’ll be reviewing one of my favorite books, sharing what I read and what I learned, AND as an added BONUS I’ll be giving away 10 copies of the book of the week to our listeners.

Below are links to some of my absolute favorite books in the sales category:

Influence: The Psychology of Persuasion, Revised Edition by Dr. Robert B. Cialdini

In this book, Dr. Robert Cialdini teaches the six principles of influence (Reciprocation, Commitment + Consistency, Social Proof, Liking, Authority, Scarcity). This is another must-read when it comes to sales psychology for any online business owner who is crafting sales copy or funnel messaging.

Go for No! Yes is the Destination, No is How You Get There by Richard Fenton

Did you know that the most empowering word in the world of sales is not yes, but is actually “NO!”? In this book, Richard Fenton gets us comfortable with success and failure – especially when it comes to sales. Being a “failure” is drastically different than failing. He shares how to progress through the five levels of failure and how to move on from them rapidly.

High Trust Selling: Make More Money in Less Time with Less Stress by Todd Duncan

When you figure out how to connect who you are and what you’re about, you’ll achieve amazing results that are long-lasting. Applying the principles in this book will take you into a new way of thinking and living — especially when it comes to sales in your business. Even if you’re not a salesperson, I believe this is a must-read for ANY online business owner. “Long-term sales success happens when high trust exists – when you are a trustworthy salesperson running a trustworthy sales business, and when it’s clear to your clients that you are a person of integrity who will not only do what you say but who also has the means to deliver.”-Todd Duncan.

Stories That Stick: How Storytelling Can Captivate Customers, Influence Audiences, and Transform Your Business by Kindra Hall

Storytelling is an incredible business tool that can win customers, assist leaders in communication, and motivate sales teams. So how do you decide what stories to tell and how to tell them? In this book Kindra shares the four types of stories you should use: the Value Story, the Founder Story, the Purpose Story, and the Customer Story. Every individual, every company has stories to tell. Are you ready to tell your stories and elevate your business?
